I have a confession… Last night I was at the NKOTBSB concert and they put on an amazing show. It was worth every penny and as cheesy as it sounds it was a childhood dream come true. What I didn’t expect was the amount of Cleveland love coming from NKOTB and BSB. It was probably over the top and they probably mentioned Cleveland well over 50 times. I couldn’t get enough of it, because every time I hear a band scream our city’s name it makes me smile. There was a point where they played “Cleveland Rocks” and the whole crowd sang along. My favorite was when Donnie Wahlberg acknowledge our city’s pain and suffering, but said there’s a lot to love about this city. There’s nothing better than hearing someone acknowledge all the good we have here! It kinda made me reflect for my love of this city. I moved here January 2007 and it was the best decision I could have made. I’m originally from Defiance, Ohio, a small town in Northwest Ohio, have you heard of it? Needless to say I was a small town girl and not remotely close to an actual city. I remember my first visit to Cleveland was a concert at the Gund to see ‘N Sync (haha i didn’t know there would be so much talk of boy bands when I started writing this)… Anyways I remember driving into the city and seeing Jacob’s Field for the first time in person. It was an exciting moment in itself as I’ve always been an Indians fan. From the moment on my love from the city grew and I was simply fascinated with all it had to offer. I had no idea that I would have as much love for a city as I do today. I love our sports, food, and all the fun things that this city has to offer like the next Clevelander, but on top of that I love all the people that are as passionate about this city as much as I am. We will continue to be the loud voice for all the haters out there and will continue to spread the word about all the wonderful things and people this city has to offer… So Cleveland – i love you and I’m happy to call you my home!
