4 years ago the Mr. and I wanted to take the next step in our relationship…by buying a puppy! We did our research on different breeds, and at the time it was really important to get a puppy so we could bond with it. Petfinder.com was always at my finger tips and I really wanted a Golden Retriever. The Mr. felt that was too traditional, and if you know him, he is by no means a traditional type of guy. We looked and looked and fell in love with the Siberian Husky breed. My neighbors growing up had Huskies, and they are absolutely gorgeous dogs. But what about all that hair?! Ehhh who cares about a little hair when you meet this face for the first time…
I know right?! We go to the breeders to meet the black and white female husky with blue eyes. OMG I can still remember walking through the door and her running to us like she knew we were going to take her home. Right before we walked into the door we were still undecided…but how could you say No to her?!
The first 2 weeks with Lexi, were challenging no doubt, and there were many times we thought “what in the hell did we get ourselves into?!” But then we watched the movie Eight Below with our new furry child and fell in love again. I mean let’s be serious, Paul Walker and Huskies *swoon*
We are seriously blessed with such an amazing dog who gives us unconditional love and wet kisses. She is the only one in my life who can always, and I do mean always make me smile. It’s been an amazing 4 years for the Mr. and I to have our first very own “real” dog. You see I grew up with Chihuahuas (very different ha), and the Mr. didn’t have a dog growing up. We picked a good one…or wait did she pick us?
love you lexi xoxo

Aw – I love this post! I have a pup too and I agree, NOTHING compares to her cute little face and wiggle dance when I come home. Bad days disappear in seconds! Give your Lexi a big smooch from us! xoxo
Exactly!…Don’t they just make your heart melt?! Will do, thanks darling!!
Baby Lexi is the cutest thing I have EVER seen! And she grew up to be quite beautiful. I want one.
Cute post. Dogs become a part of our families. Lexi is lucky to have such great “parents” like you and Rich. A dogs love is something very special that everyone should experience. I’m glad I have my little guy. Don’t know what I would do without him! :)
@Kimberly – you should totally get one… I’m a puppy pusher :)
@Katie – thanks sweets! I so agree with you! What kind of dog do you have?
awww Lexi-con! You’re so pretty!
